TO LETTINA.

(_By a Profound Thinker._)

I don't know why, but fifty times a day,

To you my thoughts persistently will fly,

You come to me, and, coming, come to stay--

I don't know why.

Sometimes I catch myself inclined to try

From heart and mind to banish you away.

I always fail. If you are not too shy,

Just write a line to tell me that I may

Think fondly of you. Then in future I

Shall think of you, and never want to say

I don't know why.
