2. Have pupils point to the letters in any order as you call them.

In this drill teach them the approximate place of the letters, that is,

to look for _a_, _d_, _c_, _f_, near the beginning; _j_, _n_, _k_, _o_,

near the middle; _t_, _v_, _w_, near the end.
