1 day. Shingít, an ancient town which has become very famous in the
whole of the east on account of its having given its name to all the
Arabs of the west. The reason of this is said to be, that a
distinguished man, a native of this place of the name of ʿAbd e’ Rahmán
visited the court of Harún e’ Ráshid. I shall say more about this place
further on.
