LYE FOR STRENGTHENING THE HAIR.

Take two handsful of the root of hemp,

same quantity of the roots of a maiden vine,

same quantity of the cores of soft cabbages.

Dry and burn them, and make a lye of the ashes. Before

you wash the hair with this lye, it should be well rubbed

with honey, and this method persisted in for three days at

least.
