to the ceiling, therefore the clothes are out of the way, dried

quickly, and by merely turning one of the poles the dryer will

expand, and, if necessary, go flat, to meet the difficulty where

kitchens are low.

HATHAWAY’S SHAKESPERIAN END OVER END ECCENTRIC MOTION CHURN

[Illustration: CHURN SHOWING GRANULATED BUTTER BUTTERMILK COPYRIGHT

HATHAWAY MAKER]

This celebrated Churn is entirely without beaters, the interior of

the Barrel being perfectly clean and smooth. The Butter is produced

by the sharp and continual concussion caused by the cream falling

from end to end, and comes in small granules, the grains of Butter

being separated from the milk or cream and kept separate from

each other until ready for making up. The whole of the Butter is

extracted from the milk or cream and can be churned, washed, salted,

and worked in the Churn without the application of the hand. The

Butter, as shown in the Granulated form in Churn, is ready to be

removed to the Butter Worker for making up.

BRADFORD’S NEW PATENT SINGLE-HANDLE FASTENER,

For “Diaphragm” and “Endundend” Churns.

Awarded Silver Medal, Royal Agricultural Society of England, 1910.

This New Patent Lid Fastener marks a further step towards

simplification and speed in fittings connected with barrel Churns,

one end of the barrel of which is formed by the lid of the Churn. A

rod, with a cam at either end, is attached to the lid, and when the

two swivel links which are attached to the Churn are placed over the

cam a single movement of the handle completes the fastening of the

lid and ensures a perfect and reliable joint. The lid is unfastened

and removed with equal facility. Our “Diaphragm” Churn is the

original Two-Fastener Churn. This fastener is a further improvement,

and is rightly called a Single-Handle Fastener.

The Churn here illustrated is fitted with the ‘Diaphragm’

Dash. The most Simple and Latest in Churn Fasteners.
