HE WON'T GET HURT.

A British prisoner of war named Lonsdale, confined in the Doeberitz

Camp, has been condemned by a German court-martial to ten years'

imprisonment for striking one of his custodians.

The incident is thus described by the _Lokal Anzeiger_: "When the

occupants of one of the tents in the camp failed to turn out for

work, a group of reservists in charge of the camp were ordered

to drive them out. Lonsdale struck one of the German soldiers. A

sergeant major drew his sword and hit Lonsdale several blows on the

back.

"At the trial the president of the court-martial told witnesses to

speak the truth and not to be influenced by hatred of the English."
