back and forth in stockinette st for 2 inches on 11 sts for instep,
ending with a K row. Pick up 10 sts on side of instep, K across 13 sts
from st holder; turn, P across all sts picking up 10 sts on opposite
side of instep, P across 13 sts from st holder (57 sts on needle). Work
in stockinette st for 1 inch. NEXT ROW: K 2 tog, K 22, K 2 tog, K 5, sl
1, K 1, p.s.s.o., K 22, K 2 tog. NEXT ROW: P across dec 1 st at each end
