Scour and rinse the feathers as usual; bleached grays may be used.
Prepare a bath with five per cent., of the weight of feathers,
bisulphate of soda and the clear solutions of acid violet, azo orange
and fuchsine S.; add the dyestuff in small portions and finally by
drops, until the bath has the desired shade of color; then enter the
feathers and dye at 170° F. to sample, squeeze or centrifugate, starch
and dry.
