GOWANS’S COSMOPOLITAN LIBRARY
_Small Fcap. 8vo. Cloth, gilt top. 1s. net per volume._
This series will be confined to standard works of our own or of other
literatures. The publishers will endeavour to avoid the beaten track
as much as possible, and in particular will try to lay before the
discriminating reader translations of a few of the thousands of foreign
books which only require to be translated to become favourites in this
country.
