The cost of living hits us here.
Taxes are climbing out of sight.
This hasn’t been a good crop year.
The season didn’t turn out right.
We had a drouth and then a flood.
Spring was too hot and fall too chill.
But we have shelter, clothes and food,
And all our dear ones with us still.
We still have friends to share our way.
We have the glory of the day,
The freedom of the hill and plain.
We have the beauty of the sky,
God’s love through dawn and evenfall.
And so, though same things seem awry,
We’re pretty lucky after all.
