This is one of the poems of purely democratic trend so characteristic of
the literature of Sweden in the early eighties. It was written in 1882.
14. _lampans ande_--allusion to the genius of Aladdin's magic lamp in
"Arabian Nights' Tales."
14-15. _allena_--_tjäna_, a "Stockholm rhyme," so called from the fact
that the dialect of the capital discriminates none too well between the
sounds of _e_ and _ä_.
