At the time of my first seeing the Lenape Stone, I observed an
elephant or mammoth carved upon the fragment. I cannot now fix
the date of my first seeing this piece. Probably it was some
three years since, though it may not be two and may be four. I
think it was before the Bucks County Bi-Centennial Exhibition.
