The just man is remembered with praises. For you, O Forerunner, the
witness of the Lord is sufficient. You truly showed yourself more
honorable than the prophets, for you were made worthy to baptize in the
streams the One Whom you proclaimed. Having gladly suffered for the
truth, you proclaimed to those in Hades the true God Who has revealed
Himself in the flesh, taken away the sin of the world and given us great
mercy.
