Obvious typographical errors have been silently corrected. Variations
in hyphenation and accents have been standardised but all other
spelling and punctuation remains unchanged.
On page 535, the heading has been changed from "WAR WITH THE SAMNITES"
to "WAR WITH THE SABINES" to match the table of contents and actual
content of the section.
