in his _Worthies of England_, edit. London, 1662, "Staffordshire," p.
41., uses this expression, writing, of Cardinal Pole. It is as follows:
"Yet afterwards he (Pole) became '_Alterius Orbis Papa_,' when
made Archbishop of Canterbury by Queen Mary."
