Near this place
lye the bodys of William Ashwood,
late of this parish, Esqr.,
And Elizabeth his wife,
daughter of William Adams,
of Longden, in this county, Esqr.
To whose memory John, their son
and heir, erected this monument,
in testimony of his duty to such
affectionate parents.
He died October 27, 1730, in his 47th year;
She March 22nd, 1740,
in her 50th year.
