FAB. CCCCLXXXVI.

_Few Friends._

One that had a Great Honour for _Socrates_, took Notice of a Pitiful

Little House that he was a Building: ’Tis a strange Thing (says he to the

Philosopher,) that so Great a Man as you are should ever think of Living

in so Wretched a Cabin. Well, says _Socrates_, And yet as Little as it

is, he were a Happy Man that had but _True Friends_ enow to fill it.

The MORAL.

_A Friend in the World, is quite Another Thing then a Friend in the

Schools: And there’s a Great Difference in the Speculation of a Friend,

from what we find in the Practice._
