REFLEXION.

Anger without Consideration, is little better then a downright Madness;

it makes us take Benefits for Injuries, it Confounds Truth and Falshood;

and we have but too many Instances of Outrages committed on the Persons

of the best of our Friends, upon a False Persuasion of their being our

Mortal Enemies. Charity bids us Hope and Believe the Best of Things:

Prudence bids us examine the Truth of Things: Religion and Common Equity

Preach to us upon the Text of _Do as you would be done by_. So that

it is Uncharitable, Unreasonable, Unchristian, and Inhuman, to pass a

Peremptory Sentence of Condemnation upon a Try’d Friend, where there’s

any Room left for a more Favourable Judgment.
