FAB. CCCCXXVI.

A _Young Fellow_ about to _Marry_.

_Marrying and Hanging_, they say, _go by Destiny_, and the Blade had

this Thought in his Head perhaps, that Desir’d the Pray’rs of the

Congregation, when he was upon the very Point of Matrimony. His Friends

gave him no Answer it seems, which put him upon Reasoning the Matter with

them. Why, Gentlemen (says he) if there had been but a _Snick-up_ in the

Case, you’d have cry’d _the Lord Bless ye Sir_; and there is more Danger

in _Marrying_ I hope, then there is in _Sneezing_.

The MORAL.

_The Parson was much in the Right sure, that like the Hangman, ask’d all

People Forgiveness that he was to Marry, before he did Execution upon

them._
