REFLEXION.

Man and Wife are in many Cases the _Ploughman_ here, and his _Ass_; they

think to Ease one another, not considering that what either of them

bears, is a common Burden to both. There was a Fudling Couple that sold

Ale, and their Humour was to Drink Drunk _Hand to Fist_, upon their own

Liquor: They laid down their Club still for what they had, and this they

called _Forcing a Trade_. Now so long as the Tipple was paid for, all

went merrily on they thought, without ever so much as Dreaming that ’twas

at their own Cost. ’Tis much thereabouts betwixt Rulers and Subjects: The

_Prince_ may carry the _Plough_ perhaps, but the weight of both Plough

and Prince lies upon the Peoples Shoulders.
