FAB. CCCLXI.

A _Florentine_ and a _Horse-Courser_.

A _Florentine_ bought a _Horse_ for so many Crowns, upon Condition to

Pay one Half down upon the Nail, and be a Debtor for the rest. The

_Horse-Courser_ comes to the _Florentine_ next Morning for the remainder

of the Money. Soft, says the _Florentine_, _A Bargain’s a Bargain_: My

Contract was to be your Debtor for the Rest, and if I Pay it, I’m no

longer your Debtor.

The MORAL.

_Conceits and Witticisms pay no Scores._
