FAB. CCXL.

A _Lyon_ and a _Man_.

There was a Controversie Started betwixt a _Lyon_ and a _Man_, which was

the Braver, and the Stronger Creature of the Two. Why look ye, says the

_Man_, (after a long Dispute) we’ll Appeal to that Statue there, and so

he shew’d him the Figure of a _Man_ Cut in Stone, with a _Lyon_ under

his Feet. Well! says the _Lyon_, if _We_ had been brought up to Painting

and Carving, as _You_ are, where you have _One Lyon_ under the Feet of a

_Man_, you should have had _Twenty Men_ under the Paw of a _Lyon_.

The MORAL.

Own Case._
