FAB. LXXVIII.

A _Camel_ Praying for _Horns_.

It stuck filthily in the _Camel’s_ Stomach, that _Bulls_, _Stags_,

_Lions_, _Bears_, and the like, should be Armed with _Horns_, _Teeth_,

and _Claws_, and that a Creature of his Size should be left Naked and

Defenceless. Upon This Thought he fell down upon his Marrow-bones, and

begg’d of _Jupiter_ to give him a Pair of Horns, but the Request was

so Ridiculous, that _Jupiter_, instead of _Horning_ him, Order’d him

to be Cropt, and so Punish him with the loss of his Ears which Nature

had Allow’d him, for being so Unreasonable as to Ask for _Horns_, that

Providence never intended him.
