FAB. XXVIII.

A _Wolf_, _Kid_, and _Goat_.

A _Goat_ that was going out one Morning for a Mouthful of Fresh Grass,

Charg’d her _Kid_ upon her Blessing, not to Open the Door till she came

back, to any Creature that had not a Beard. The _Goat_ was no sooner out

of sight, but up comes a _Wolf_ to the Door, that had Over-hear’d the

Charge; and in a Small Pipe calls to the _Kid_ to let her _Mother_ come

in. The _Kid_ smelt out the Roguery, and bad the _Wolf_ shew his _Beard_,

and the Door should be open to him.

The MORAL.

_There never was any Hypocrite so Disguis’d but he had some Mark or Other

yet to be known by._
