Having visited the greater part of the public establishments upon the
Continent of Europe, as well as in our own country, I hope it will not
be thought presumptuous to declare my opinion of the excellence of
this, and to assert, that none other can be placed in competition with
it, for its admirable and extensive distribution, as well as for the
abolition of such dreadfully coercive measures as are constantly and
generally adopted in other lunatic asylums, its cleanliness, airiness,
&c. &c.
