JOHN DAVID,

Aged forty, admitted in December 1822. This is a Welshman. He was tried

for cutting and wounding his wife, and attempting to murder her: but on

his trial was found to be insane, and was consigned to restriction in a

mad-house. Since his confinement here reason seems to have resumed her

seat; for he has behaved himself very well, is quiet and regular, and

has shewn no symptoms that bespeak mental derangement.
