JOHN NICHOLSON,

Aged sixty, admitted about two years since. This is a north-countryman.

He was convicted of a violent assault on a man of whom he was jealous:

but was deemed to be insane, and consigned to a mad-house. At present,

and for some time past, he appears, in his calm moments, quite sane,

rational, quiet, and well-behaved; but is apt to be very irritable and

passionate on the slightest provocation.
