JAMES CHEESBURGH,

Aged twenty-five, admitted about four years since. This young man

comes from Yorkshire, where he was tried and convicted of murdering

his mother: but being found insane, he was confined for some time in

York Castle, from which place he was sent here. This patient is, in

general, quiet and harmless, but when disappointed of getting tobacco

becomes extremely violent. Notwithstanding his general quietness, he

cannot however at all times be trusted, and is therefore under constant

vigilance.
