Aged about forty-four, admitted here about six years since, from
Devonshire. He was previously confined six or seven years in the gaol
of Exeter, where he was tried for murdering an old lady in her bed; but
on his trial was found to be deranged in his mind, and detained in the
gaol on that account. He is at times in a very high state of disorder,
but in his more lucid intervals he is religious, calm, and well behaved.
