Of London, aged forty-three, admitted here November the 8th, 1816. This
man is a remarkably fine looking, manly fellow, and is the person who
was tried at the Old Bailey about the above-named period, for firing
off a loaded pistol at the groom of Lord Rivers; but as he was found by
the Jury to be insane, he was sent hither on the day stated. This man’s
malady exalts his notions of his own quality to a very high pitch of
eminence and grandeur; for, according to his own account, he is Julius
Cæsar, an Emperor, and God of war. Big with this notion, he, of course,
assumes the most consequential air of importance; has no equal on this
side the moon, and is extremely talkative and busy, but by no means
mischievous or dangerous.
