Excellent opportunities have been afforded the tree surgeon of the
Commission and his assistants to counteract the influence of false
theories and worthless remedies such as above mentioned, in responding
to the numerous requests for the examination of individual trees. These
requests have continued to come to the Commission headquarters right
up to the time of closing our work. No other line of work has been so
effective in arousing the personal interests of the people. No request
from any part of the State has been ignored. In this connection much
incidental advice has been given to property owners as to the general
handling of lawns and orchards, and the management of small woodlots.
