NURSERY INSPECTION.

The inspection of nursery stock has been made even more rigid than

before. Not only has it been required that every individual tree

should be inspected by a competent employee of this Commission, but in

shipping it has been required also that every individual tree should be

tagged. A copy of the revised regulations governing the inspection and

shipment of nursery stock is appended to this report, which shows the

form of tags required to be attached both to individual trees and to

bundles of trees. The fact that several of the most serious infections

in the State have been caused heretofore by the planting of diseased

nursery stock in new localities is sufficient reason for so rigid an

inspection.
