On the 26th, Base of Supplies changed from Port Royal to White House.
All the troops South of the North Anna were crossed back to the North
side, and moved under orders to proceed to Hanover, a point within 20
miles of Richmond.
On the 29th, at Hanover.
The 2d Corps moved toward Tolopotomy Creek to discover the whereabouts
of the enemy. He was found strongly fortified.
