_Sallust_ (Vol. iii., p. 325.).--May I ask your correspondent whether
the following lines in the "Georgics" (iii. 284.), the most exact
composition in existence, prove that _they_ were first delivered by word
of mouth, from notes only:--
"Sed fugit interea, fugit irreparabile tempus,
Singula dum capti circumvectamur amore."
