_John Marwoode._--A house in the town of Honiton, Devon, has the
following inscription carved above the dining-room mantelpiece:
"John . Marwoode . Get . Phisition . Bridget . Wife . Buylded."
From a marble tablet in the porch, J. M. appears to have been "Gentleman
