There centennial pine and oak

Into stormy cadence broke:

Hollow rocks gloomed, slanting,

Echoing in dim arcade,

Looming with long moss, that made

Twilight streaks in tatters laid:

Where the wild hart, hunt-affrayed,

Plunged the water, panting.
