Obvious typographical errors and punctuation errors have been
corrected after careful comparison with other occurrences within
the text and consultation of external sources.
Except for those changes noted below, all misspellings in the text,
and inconsistent or archaic usage, have been retained.
The “Double Double Crochet” stitch abbreviated as “d. d. c.” and
referenced on Page 5’s “DESCRIPTION OF TERMS USED IN CROCHET” is
not used in any pattern. The Half Double Crochet is referenced as
“h.d.c.” on page 9 but not described here. A Half Double Crochet would
be described using language from this book as “Turn the twine around
the needle once, pass the hook through a loop of preceding row, bring
twine through, throw the twine around the needle and draw it through
three loops.”
Stitch abbreviations split across lines have been joined to improve
legibility.
