A man, named Andrew Costello, 86, died in Halifax yesterday, from
injuries committed on him by his daughter, a mill hand. She struck him
on Monday with a rolling-pin, and on the following day tore his tongue
out at the root at one side. He died in the workhouse, of lockjaw.
