Wintergreen leaves and berries contain a good deal of natural salicylic
acid and are thus an excellent remedy for rheumatism. The herb is
usually taken in the form of an infusion or “tea,” made by pouring a
pint of boiling water upon 1 oz. of the leaves. This is poured off the
leaves when drawn, and a wineglassful taken at intervals.
