Inconsistency in hyphenation has been retained.
Illustrations have been relocated due to using a non-page layout.
Some photographs have been enhanced to be more legible.
Book headings conveyed location in the text; while also being repeated.
They have been converted into sidenotes; with duplication being removed.
However, they are displayed only in the html version.
