SILVER MILL:

A Tale of the Don Valley. By Mrs. R. H. READ. With 6 full-page

Illustrations by JOHN SCHOeNBERG, in black and tint. Crown 8vo, cloth

elegant, 3_s._ 6_d._

The story of a girl and boy. The chief interest centres around Ruth,

who is supposed to be the orphan child of a working-man, but who

eventually turns out to be the daughter of the cynical, though

essentially kind-hearted, owner of Silver Mill. In tracing the

character of Ruth as she develops from an impulsive girl to noble

womanhood, the author has drawn a picture at once pleasing and

suggestive.
