I. THE APPOINTMENT OF 'ABDU'L-BAHA AS THE SUCCESSOR OF BAHA'U'LLAH

One "Whom God hath purposed, Who hath branched from this
Ancient Root".

understand in the Baha'i writings to "Him Who hath branched
