_Cariani_ (Bergamese: about 1480-1541). _See 1203._ This fine picture, known as _La Vierge aux Lauriers_ from its background of a laurel-bush (and roses), was formerly in the Leuchtenberg Collection at St. Petersburg, where it was ascribed to Giorgione.
