1930. PORTRAIT OF A LADY AS ST. MARGARET.

_Francisco Zurbaran_ (Spanish: 1598-1662). _See 230._

Zurbaran, it has been said, was "a great though not a professed,

portrait painter." The lady is St. Margaret only in virtue of the

dragon, the emblem of the saint; otherwise this is a portrait of a

young lady in a fanciful country costume.
