While reaching for sixty I played a child’s game,
But I leaped to the front in the elephant dance.
From earliest years overlooked by Fame,
While reaching for sixty I played a child’s game.
Old dignified friends, who are more or less lame,
Think me monstrous and strange, in search of mischance—
While reaching for sixty I played a child’s game,
But I leaped to the front in the elephant dance.
