1. _Symphyta_: Abdomen not basally constricted. Larvae caterpillars
with thoracic legs and abdominal prolegs.
Comprises the saw-flies.
2. _Apocrita_: Abdomen markedly constricted at second segment. Larvae
legless grubs.
