CXIV.

_Mittit Joannes qui quaerant a Christo, an is sit._ Luc. vii. 19.

_John sends to Jesus ... saying, Art Thou He that should come? or look

we for another?_

And dost _thou_ ask, who in thy mother's womb

So eager wast to hail Messiah come?

Thou ask, and of Himself, if Christ He be?

Why, even the very dumb can answer thee. CL.
